Former agent Phil Carson claims the Los Angeles Police Department deliberately derailed the FBI's investigation into the case. According to Carson, who retired from the FBI in September of 2017, the top brass at the agency conspired to ruin the investigation, due to the involvement of multiple rogue LAPD Police Officers, who helped carry out the contract killing.
